Why meeting new people online can feel hard

Most apps ask for a lot before you can say hello: a phone number, a full profile, photos, sometimes your contacts. And once a conversation starts, you are often expected to move it to another app straight away. Drdshe keeps the first step small. You pick a display name, and the people you talk to see only that name, your gender and whether you are online. Everything else is yours to share — or not.

How it works

Create an account in a minute with a display name, a password, your gender and your age (you must be 18 or older). Email is optional. Then open the online list: it shows people who are online right now, and you choose who to message. There is no algorithm pushing strangers at you and no random pairing — you decide who to talk to, and you can go offline whenever you want a break.

Inside a private chat you can send text, photos and voice notes of up to two minutes. Many friendships start with a simple question and a voice note; our page on voice chat with voice notes explains how that works.

Making friends, not collecting contacts

Good friendships online grow the same way they do offline: slowly, through shared interests and small kindnesses. Ask about someone’s day, their favourite food, what they are reading or watching. Listen more than you talk. If the conversation is not clicking, it is fine to say goodbye politely and try again later. Nobody owes anyone a reply, and nobody should be pressured to share more than they want.

Meeting men and women in a respectful space

Drdshe is a social space for adults, and it is equally for men and women. Respect is the rule: no insults, no harassment, no sexual or explicit content, and no pushing someone who has said no. Anyone who ignores this can be blocked in one tap and reported to moderators. The full rules are in the Community Guidelines.

Meet people in Arabic and English

Stay safe while you get to know someone

Getting to know someone takes time, and trust should be earned. Keep personal details — your surname, address, workplace or social accounts — private until you are sure. Be careful with anyone who asks for money, codes, or photos you are not comfortable sending. If something feels off, block or report the person from the online list or the chat. Your privacy

Messages are removed after a short retention window (30 days by default), photos and voice notes are stored privately behind short-lived links, and notifications only say “New message”. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted; the Privacy Policy explains what is stored and for how long. You can delete your account at any time, with a seven-day grace period in case you change your mind.
