Voice chat with strangers — with voice notes, not calls

Sometimes a few seconds of your voice say more than a paragraph of text. Drdshe lets you voice chat with new people through voice notes of up to two minutes, right inside any private chat — no live call, no phone number, no pressure to answer on the spot.

How voice chat works on Drdshe

Open a chat with someone from the online list, hold the microphone button and speak. Release to send, or slide away to cancel if you change your mind. Voice notes can be up to two minutes long, and the other person plays them whenever they are ready. You can mix voice notes with text and photos in the same conversation.

Why voice notes instead of live calls

Drdshe deliberately has no live voice or video calls. With voice notes, nobody is put on the spot: you can think before you speak, re-record a message you are not happy with, and reply when it suits you. That makes voice chat with strangers feel friendlier and much less awkward, especially in the first conversations.

It also protects your privacy. A call usually means sharing a number or an account on another app; a voice note stays inside the Drdshe chat, linked only to your display name.

Your voice, your choice

Your voice is personal — treat a voice note like a photo of your face. Send one when you feel comfortable, not because someone insists. Before you record, check the background: names, places or other people’s voices can reveal more than you intended. Anything you send can be saved by the other person, so share at your own pace.

A voice notes chat in Arabic or English

Voice notes are especially useful in Arabic: a dialect often sounds clearer spoken than written, and laughing at a joke is easier out loud. Drdshe works fully in Arabic and English, so you can switch between languages — and between typing and talking — whenever you like. See Arabic chat on Drdshe for more.

Privacy and storage

Voice notes and photos are stored privately behind short-lived links, and chats are removed after a short retention window (30 days by default). Messages are not end-to-end encrypted, and the Privacy Policy explains exactly what is kept. Push notifications show a generic “New message”, so nothing you hear or say appears on the lock screen.

Unwanted voice notes

If someone sends voice notes you did not ask for, or anything inappropriate, you do not have to listen or reply. Block or report them from the chat; moderators review reports under the Community Guidelines. More on this in safety on Drdshe.

Tips for voice notes that get replies

Keep the first one short, say who you are in a sentence, and end with a question. Our guide to voice note etiquette has more ideas, from the right length to when to switch back to text.
